DTF (Direct to Film) is a digital printing technology that transfers vibrant designs onto various materials like fabric. It allows for high-quality, durable prints with intricate details.
DTF transfers produce sharp, vibrant designs that are both soft to the touch and long-lasting. The quality depends on the file you provide, so it’s important to submit high-resolution designs to ensure the best result
DTF transfers are highly durable, with proper application and care. They are designed to last for many washes without fading or peeling.
DTF transfers can be applied using a heat press. Please refer to our How to Press page for detailed instructions on how to get the best results.
We offer a wide range of sizes from 3″ x 3″ to 22″ x 20 Feet and can accommodate custom sizing requests. Please contact us for more details.
Yes, DTF transfers can be washed after application. For the longest lifespan, it’s recommended to wash in cold water and avoid high heat drying.
You can use any heat press, from a household iron to an industrial-level machine. For best results, we recommend an industrial heat press. Learn more on our How to Press page.
For the best results, please submit artwork in vector format (AI, PDF, EPS) or high-resolution raster files (PNG, SVG) with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
DTF (Direct to Film) printing is a unique method that allows you to print full-color designs onto a special film, which is then transferred onto fabric using heat and pressure. Unlike screen printing, it doesn’t require stencils, and compared to sublimation, it works on a wider range of materials, including cotton and polyester blends.Toggle Content
No, DTF transfers do not require pre-treatment. Unlike DTG (Direct to Garment) printing, which needs a pre-treatment step, DTF transfers can be directly applied to fabrics with heat and pressure.
DTF transfers are primarily designed for fabric materials, but they can sometimes be applied to non-fabric surfaces like wood or leather if they are coated properly. However, for the best results, we recommend testing on a sample before applying to non-traditional surfaces.
The recommended heat press settings for DTF transfers are 320°F (160°C) for 15 seconds with medium pressure. Always ensure your heat press is calibrated correctly for consistent results.
To prevent peeling, ensure that:
You are using the correct heat press settings.
You are applying firm, even pressure.
The transfer is fully cooled before peeling the film (for cold peel transfers).
The final press (after peeling) is done to lock the design onto the fabric.

While a home iron can sometimes work, we strongly recommend using a heat press. Home irons do not provide consistent temperature and pressure, which can lead to uneven application and reduced durability.

Store your DTF transfers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Keeping them in a sealed bag or container can help maintain their quality until they are ready to be used.
Yes! Our DTF transfers use non-toxic, OEKO-TEX certified inks, making them safe for children’s clothing. However, always ensure the garments are properly washed before first use.
We recommend submitting artwork in 300 DPI resolution and in PNG or PSD format with a transparent background for the best print quality. If you’re unsure, our team can review your file before printing.
While our DTF prints produce vibrant and accurate colors, exact color matching can vary slightly due to different screen calibrations and fabric types. If you need precise color matching, please contact us for test prints.
Yes! We offer sample prints so you can test the quality before committing to a large order. Contact us to request a sample.
A properly applied DTF transfer can last 50+ washes without cracking or fading, making it comparable to or even more durable than screen printing when cared for properly.
Common mistakes include:
Not using enough pressure: Ensure firm, even pressure is applied.
Incorrect temperature settings: Too much or too little heat can cause poor adhesion.
Peeling too early: For cold peel transfers, always wait for the design to fully cool before peeling.
Skipping the final press: A second press helps lock in the design for long-lasting durability.
